 What is Hopscotch?

We are a long established parent/carer and toddler group which has proved extremely popular with the local community.  Because of the popularity we run several separate groups to cover both babies and toddlers.

The hopscotch baby and toddler groups are all run by volunteer members of Heathervale Baptist Church. Our aim is to provide a welcoming, friendly and safe environment for babies and toddlers with their parents and carers to meet other parents and their children.

The groups are open to all from within our local community, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our mission statement is:

"Hopscotch aims to demonstrate and share the love of Jesus by offering welcoming, supportive and inclusive baby and toddler groups for local families and carers.  We endeavour to provide a happy, friendly and safe environment where parents, carers and children can enjoy playing, meeting and interacting with each other."

Hopscotch Wednesdays & Fridays

These popular groups cater for all ages of preschool children, together with their parents and carers. There is a wide variety of toys and play equipment including dressing up. We also provide a craft activity, story time and lively singing session each week. Refreshments are provided, with a suggested voluntary donation of £1.50 per family. Other activities include photographers during the autumn term, Christmas parties and the celebration of Easter and Christmas with a special, short, inter-active toddler service.

Who Let The Dads Out?

We also run a toddler group specially for dads and male carers called, ‘Who Let The Dads Out?’ which is held on the second Saturday of each month, 9.30-11.30 am, in the lounge.
